The Writings Of Livingstone Fagan THE INVISIBLE GOD, MADE VISIBLE Transcription by Mark Swett --------------------------------------------------------------------------- There is a part of God that is visible, material creation. Of which, we're a part and therefore share this visibility, being visible through our having material form. There is also a part of God that is invisible. Likewise we too are possessed of this invisibility. We are made aware of this invisible aspect of God by our continued seeking after him. The reason He's not readily found is not due to Him, but as will become apparent, it's because of us. Our not being conscious of our own invisibility. For it is through our being situated in this consciousness we perceive that which we do not now see of God. Our invisibility refers to that sense of freedom which defies all attempts at quantification. Indivisible from self, it is administered through the will, being evident in the mind as thinking. The corresponding thoughts generally shaped by the experiences of the senses. Although common to all, we are individually endowed with it. Making apparent both our individuality, and the awareness of its commonality. Not having its origin at the level of consciousness we are familiar with, it cannot be defined relative to its terms. It is this anonymity that lends itself to the designation invisible, and is our sense of freedom. Ignorance and its opposite, knowledge, both offer themselves as potential prison houses. The best of both worlds is possessed of one situated in, and who acts out of innocence of faith. So then, we are possessed of an internal sense of freedom invisible to all but self. Out of which we perceive and act upon, the world. The awareness of its commonality to all, gives rise to the need for trust, if it is to be preserved. Being situated in this consciousness of trust, makes for our peaceful co-existence. In a world where trust, and the resulting freedom has been abused and overridden, we have lost sight of its place and sanctity. In this degenerate consciousness, sinful man arrogantly challenges a holy, faithful God, to open Himself (make visible by becoming as we are) to such degeneracy, as man is now a part of. In His response of 2,000 years ago, taking form yet maintaining His holiness, men judged Him to be too holy. So they rejected Him, nailing Him to a cross. Ever wondered what would be the outcome if He came posing as the chief of sinners! What we commonly describe as Mystics, are those who have alternatively come into the consciousness of God. Some actually being set free from this degenerate form. In any event, God's manifestations through human form, necessitates our having faith (ourselves being also confined to the common form) to enable our comprehension of who he really is. For even whilst in form His invisibility remains. Therefore our coming to respect God's right to be God, however He is, visible or invisible, has its place. The cause of respect amongst ourselves. In our understanding the reason He is as He is, we perceive the truth of how and why we are. His being as He is, is inseparably linked to our being! The issue is, do we want to be? Then we need to come to that place in our consciousness, where we find rest in His being as He is. His being separated, freed of us, while yet sustaining our life (albeit at a lower level) makes the very concept "freedom" visible to us. To the extent we individually grasp this, is nurtured in us, our sense of being free and self dignity. This consciousness allows our re-imaging in the divine image. Making His invisibility visibly important. Developing this theme of God further. There are experiences beyond the senses and the body, not accessible to them without their suffering irreparable damage. In God's experiencing of these He has had to give both body and mind over to consumption by them. This explains why He's supernatural, spirit, beyond matter. To be as He is, necessitates our comparable sacrifice. Otherwise we trust in His communications concerning these realities, enabling our transcending the consciousness born of our limited senses, while yet retaining our form. In so trusting, we are made aware of these deeper truths, preserving form by acting in harmony with them. Failing this, we will destroy ourselves. The importance of our invisibility cannot be stressed enough. Being indivisible form self, by our not maturing in its consciousness, we are in danger of becoming non-persons. Crafted in the image of that which, fills the void created by God's separation. This is not His will. Being a free moral entity, He encourages the same in us. Additional reasons for His invisibility, and His also condemning the making of images (material or abstract) purportedly of Him. We are thus left in a free environment where we can mature in our own right. Unfortunately, there are countless millions enslaved, lost in the images and opinions of others, revered as truth. Truth is being freed of such. Finding rest and true dignity in ones own experiencing of freedom, as God is free. Mutually respecting the right to that freedom of ones fellow beings. The saying, "don't be afraid of your freedom" is apt. This invisibility is therefore integral to our maturation as free moral entities. In creating us God did not seek robotoid clones of himself. Evidencing His respect for His creation. Sure we may see eye to eye, but this comes in time, through our mutual, sound and rational judgment of the evidence. Our freedom perfectly preserved. It is when we have arrived at this place in our consciousness, we are ready to be received of God's revelation of Himself. How else will we respect God, were He to formally dwell amongst us. We already showed our attitude 2,000 years ago. Therefore, until then, it remains a struggle in the classroom of faith and experience, as we attempt to discern the meaning in the dark sayings of those gone before us. So then, God can only make that which is invisible of Himself, visible to us at the level of thought situated in the consciousness of its own invisibility. This information is basically twofold. His nature, and His will and purposes for the universe. The former deals with matters of His being, and require our partaking of such to see it. This is imparted to us by act of His will. You cannot conceive of it if your not possessed of it. It is here experienced as freedom from imprisonment to this iniquitous human mind. Made openly visible in the resisting of the encroachment of such, upon ones personage. The perceptive spirit can discern in such workings, God's invisibility.
