You just use "proof text" books without checking the texts or doing a proper
Bible study. See examples in my other mail.

I just received another post from a traditional Adventist using "proof
texts" and one of the texts didn't even exist!

As an example of your doing this, what about your referring me to Ex 21 on
"God's Law" the chapter is all about personal injuries and Hebrew Servants?

>Huh??? Which part is my quote or your words John. Let's look at who wrote
>the Ten Commandments. Exodus 32:14-15
>15

>Testimony in his hands. They were inscribed on both sides, front and back.
>16
>The tablets were the work of God; the writing was the writing of God,
>engraved on the tablets.
>Notice 16 the writing was the writing of God. Not Moses.

>Let's see more evidence in Exodus 31:18
>"When the LORD finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the
>two tablets of the Testimony, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger
>of God."

We've been through this a hundred times. You give a quote about God giving
the Ten Commandments, I point out this was all part of the covenant, and the
Ten Commandments are described as "the words of the covenant" (Ex 34:28).
You then quote the Ten Commandments again. Why not address yourself to my
reply instead of repeating yourself?

There followed a very large discussion on the Ten Commandments and "proof
texts" on the law. None of which you appear to have replied to. Do you agree
with what I said?

>>This is at the end of Isaiah. Many texts in the Prophets cannot be taken
>>literally, as it also refers to the "New Moon" festival - which Adventists
>>don't keep
>Isaiah 66:22-
>>22
>"As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me,"
>declares the LORD, "so will your name and descendants endure.
>23
>From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind
>will come and bow down before me," says the LORD.
>24
>"And they will go out and look upon the dead bodies of those who rebelled
>against me; their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched, and
>they will be loathsome to all mankind."
>
>I don't see any festival here John notice verse 22. Verse 24 speaks of
>those of death and final destruction

You are not familar with the New Moon festival? This text is at the end of
Isaiah. Turn to the beginning of Isaiah:
"New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations - I cannot bear your evil assemblies.
Your New Moon festivals and your appointed feasts my soul hates" (Is
1:13-14).

Once again my quotes come from one tried and true source the Bible. I hope
>you can at least be accurate and not lift false accusation about myself.

I'm afraid you haven't supplied any different quotes to before. All you seem
to have done is re-quoted the giving of the words of the covenant (the Ten
Commandments). Try studing the Bible on the law, and see how you got on. You
might find it revealing.
